Uganda is a true birder’s paradise, home to over 1,000 bird species, including the rare shoebill stork. This 7-day birding safari takes you through wetlands, forests, and savannahs in search of some of Africa’s most spectacular birds — guided by our expert ornithologists.
Day 1: Arrival in Entebbe
Arrive in Entebbe and enjoy a relaxed evening along the shores of Lake Victoria. If time allows, visit the Entebbe Botanical Gardens or Mabamba Swamp, famous for the elusive shoebill.

Day 2: Mabamba Swamp Birding
Early morning birding by canoe through the papyrus channels of Mabamba Swamp, one of Uganda’s best shoebill habitats. Expect to see African jacanas, kingfishers, and herons. Return for lunch and transfer to Lake Mburo National Park.
Overnight in Lake Mburo.
Day 3: Lake Mburo National Park
Enjoy birding and a game drive in Lake Mburo, spotting species such as the crested barbet, African finfoot, and rufous-bellied heron. The park is also home to zebras, impalas, and elands.

Day 4: Transfer to Bwindi
Drive to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, one of Africa’s richest ecosystems for birdlife, hosting over 350 species including many Albertine Rift endemics.

Day 5: Birding in Bwindi Forest
Full-day birding adventure in Bwindi, searching for the African green broadbill, yellow-eyed black flycatcher, and Bar-tailed trogon. The forest also teems with butterflies and primates.

Day 6: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park
Drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park, birding en route. Afternoon boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel — expect to see pied kingfishers, African fish eagles, pelicans, and more.

Day 7: Morning Birding & Return to Entebbe
Early morning birding drive before returning to Entebbe via Mbarara. Your guide will ensure memorable sightings to close your birding expedition.
